I am a Certified Professional Photographer

Well, 99% there. In January, I attended the PPA ( Professional Photographers of America) meeting in Phoenix and attended a three day class designed to pass the test. There were about 40 people taking the course with me. The person sitting next to me was voted Photographer of the Year for three years running from Missouri. Wow! Impressive classmates.I completed the Prep Course and and took the exam the next day and I passed. Iwill not tell you my score. The Photographer of the year sitting next to me got a 92. I got less than that.The next step is to send in 20 images that represent the body of my work: obviously wedding and bridal photography. I did that right away. The PPA only reviews submitted images two times a year. I sent in 20 of my best, so I think I am covered there.I found out that only 3% of the photographers in the US are certified. So, I am proud of my new designation. I always thought I was a good photographer, now the PPA certifies that I am.

My new blog

I am starting a blog today for a simple reason: to raise my visibility with google and yahoo crawlers. I have realized that a stagnant we site gets less hits, but a vibrant one with additions and changes attracts more attention.

I have a very busy wedding photography business, so it will not be difficult to post news and comments. I, of course, invite any of my brides to add any comments they would like. As I look back to the 180 plus weddings I have shot, I have not had any angry brides. I am proud of that fact.

So here goes. I wish I were more elequent, but that is not the intention. My intention is to excite and energize my web site.
